Creating space for growth
Dominic Doyle Psychology
A Clinical Psychology Practice for Adults and Older Adolescents in Mont Albert, Melbourne’s Eastern Suburbs
At times we experience emotional distress that can feel overwhelming, difficult to understand alone and that interferes with living fully.
Dr Dominic offers psychotherapy grounded in careful psychological understanding, with a collaborative therapeutic process aimed at meaningful and lasting change.
Welcome to My Practice
My name is Dr Dominic Doyle - Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist.
People come to therapy for many reasons. Some feel overwhelmed and want to understand why. Others simply recognise that something in their lives no longer feels manageable, satisfying, or sustainable.
I offer psychotherapy for individuals experiencing emotional distress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or longstanding patterns that feel difficult to shift alone.
My approach is based on the understanding that distress is not simply a diagnosis to be treated, but something that emerges within the context of a person’s history, relationships, and emotional life.
It’s about understanding the person, the emotional patterns they carry, and the experiences that have shaped them.
Therapy provides an opportunity to not only relieve distress, but to understand more deeply that which is contributing to it, so that more lasting change becomes possible.
Therapy often begins before a person fully understands what is troubling them.
What You May Be Struggling With
Perhaps you’re navigating a crisis, or feeling overwhelmed. Maybe you’ve been dealing with emotional difficulty for some time.
I offer therapy for adults and older adolescents (16+) who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, distressed, or emotionally exhausted, and who are seeking both relief and a deeper understanding of themselves. People come to see me when they’re:

Feeling depressed (including sadness, feeling hopeless and lethargic)
Highly self-critical
Feeling stuck or unfulfilled, even if things “look fine” on the outside
Dealing with life transitions (i.e., graduating, becoming a parent, retirement etc)
Experiencing anger and emotion regulation issues
Lonely and isolated
Impacted by grief and loss
Dealing with strained relationships with friends, family and/or partners
Interested in a therapy that goes beyond symptom management
Seeking to understand themselves more fully
